"True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else." ~ Clarence Darrow
FugginSuggin.com (amongst others) is calling for the U.S. government to finally appoint an independent and objective group to investigate the circumstances behind and surrounding the attacks on the World Trade Center buildings that took place 9 years ago in New York City on September 11, 2001. We (amongst others) are under the information and belief that the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the "9/11 Commission") were not fully informed, were not impartial and objective, and did not adequately investigate in preparation of the Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the 9/11 Report).
new analysis predicting that the growing security threat to Americans is homegrown terrorists not anti-U.S. militants abroad, it is time to look further into 9/11 before more American citizens are targeted under the U.S. Patriot Act and detained (or worse) without due process. In order to truly honor the memory of those who perished on September 11, 2001, we should thoroughly investigate the events that led to their deaths and the reason why the tragedy was not prevented.
not unpatriotic to question authority. Our government has preached its gospel of blind allegiance, a message which they have termed to be "patriotism." This tainted concept of patriotism is evident in their “with us or against us” mentality, designed to deceive the populace and inspire in the minds of the people a false sense of national pride. They have distorted the definition of patriotism, making it synonymous with conformity and now use it simply to compel support in the government, their foreign policy, and the party line.
Real patriotism begins in one’s courage to question and to dissent, even to rebel against a system which one feels to be unjust. Only when we are able to understand this truth and see through the propagandist cloak of this news-speak simplification of “patriotism” that has been used to manipulate and control us, will we as a nation of people be able to end this desecration of democracy.
"The greater the state, the more wrong and cruel its patriotism, and the greater is the sum of suffering upon which its power is founded." ~Leo Tolstoy
